Keller Garden Club Receives Texas Arbor Day Proclamation

On November 6, the Keller Garden Club hosted its first Texas Arbor Day celebration in collaboration with the City of Keller and Bartlett Tree Experts. With support from the City, two desert willows were planted near the Pollinator Garden at Keller Pointe. Cameron Scott from Bartlett Tree Experts delivered an informative presentation covering tree selection, planting preparation, root ball management, placement, fertilization, watering, and ongoing care. Bartlett Tree Services also generously provided free tree seedlings, including river birch, black walnut, Mexican white oak, and Japanese maple.

This event marked the beginning of an ongoing effort by the Keller Garden Club to support and enhance awareness of the vital role trees play in our ecosystem. Moving forward, we hope to build on the success of this first Texas Arbor Day celebration with additional activities aimed at tree education, conservation, and community engagement. By promoting responsible tree planting and care, we aim to inspire a community-wide commitment to maintaining a healthy urban canopy in Keller.

During the November 19th Keller City Council Meeting, a proclamation will recognize the Keller Garden Club's dedication to raising awareness of tree conservation and the importance of trees in our community. As a designated Tree City USA—a program sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters—the City of Keller receives technical support, guidance, public recognition, and national visibility for its urban and community forestry efforts. Together, the Garden Club and the City hope to foster a sustainable future through ongoing tree education and conservation initiatives.
